Every OA lodge belongs to a Section -- an intermediate organization between the lodge and the national organization. Last I counted there are 46 Sections nationwide though the number keeps changing as sections are often merged or reorganized. Some are small with as few as two lodges while others are huge with as many as nine lodges. The main purposes of a section are to send local representatives to National OA meetings, assist the lodges in their Section, and run a yearly Conclave. Wauna La-Mon'tay Lodge is in Section W-1A, which also has Tsisqan Lodge from Eugene, and Lo La 'Qam Geela Lodgefrom Central Point, Oregon.

The "W" in W-1A means we are in the Western Region. The "1" signifies that we are in Area 1 of the Western Region which covers OR, WA, ID, AK & the Far East. The "A" is our section. Section W-1B covers most of Western Washington and all of Alaska. Section W-1C covers Most of Eastern Oregon, Eastern Washington, and all but the eastern edge of Idaho.
