Ordeal Membership
Congratulations on your election to the Order of the Arrow, Scouting's National Honor Society. Your fellow
Scouts have recognized you as a leader who is dedicated to cheerful service. You should be proud that you are a
candidate for the Order of the Arrow. However, you aren't a member yet. Below is information about how you can become
a member in the OA, and what you can expect in the induction process. We look forward to meeting you at the Ordeal
weekend of your choice, and after completion welcoming you as a member of Wauna La-Mon'tay, but more importantly the Order of the Arrow!

Your election is simply a starting point, for your journey is just beginning. The next step is to complete an induction ceremony, or
Ordeal where you will learn more about brotherhood, cheerfulness, and service. At the end of the Ordeal after learning about yourself
and your abilities, you will be a member of the Order of the Arrow.
You should be prepared to spend a night outside on Friday and be ready to spend the day working around camp on Saturday.
Please make sure you bring a sleeping bag, a ground tarp, a water bottle, and weather approriate cloths to your Ordeal. You should also
bring some work clothes and work gloves for Saturday and a complete class-A uniform which you will wear on Saturday evening and Sunday morning.
Plan to arrive at the camp dining hall by 7:00 p.m. on Friday night of the ordeal weekend so that we may start promptly. You should bring something for dinner or eat before you arrive.
As always dress according to the weather, and remember to bring rain gear becuase we do live in Oregon. Praticpants may be picked up either
Saturday night or Sunday morning, just remember to check-out. You must stay until after the Feast on Saturday.
